Antalis has provided Greenshire with a sustainable solution to its polypropylene mop trays

Leicester-based Greenshires supplies marketing materials and solutions around the UK and specialises in the design and production of freestanding display units (FSDU) for retail.

The collaboration comes at a time of growing environmental awareness among retailers which has meant that due to the short lifespan of FSDUs that comes with changing retail displays regularly, they need to be as environmentally friendly as possible – whilst remaining practical and robust.

In order to overcome the issue of mops damaging the print quality and structure of paper-based board, the firm had been using polypropylene mop trays at the base of the stands.

Antalis has worked with the firm to develop a more sustainable and durable material for their FSDUs, recommending MopGuard, a recycled polyester sheet designed for making protective tray bases for retail displays that is 100% recyclable.

We pride ourselves on leading the way in offering customers the best possible innovations

Typical applications of MopGuard include poster covers, packaging, clear pockets/leaflet dispensers and point-of-sale displays.

Paul Neale, product manager for visual communications at Antalis UK, comments: “We pride ourselves on leading the way in offering customers the best possible innovations.

“Mop trays are crucial in busy retail environments such as supermarkets to protect corrugated FSDU displays against knocks, spills and floor cleaning. It is also of course a much more environmentally friendly option, over thermoplastic polymers.”

Following the success of MopGuard on its mop trays, Greenshire is now also using it to manufacture leaflet pockets that sit on the FSDUs too.
