Eco-friendly wrap film proves high performance

Proving that a more environmentally friendly option does not mean decreased quality, 3M has released Envision 480 Print Wrap Film for eco-conscious sign-makers, which has been speculated to outperform some of 3M’s existing industry favourites.

3M Envision 480 Print Wrap can be used to wrap vehicles such as boats and buses, and can also be used for textured walls and signage

This is due to the non-PVC white film’s unique combination of sustainability and high performance technology. With twelve years durability, the installation of the film is said to be easy and fast, and has tensile strength making it hard to tear.

Once installed with overlaminate, the film is resistant to UV rays, high temperatures, and moisture.

We find it negates the need for other materials, enabling us to use a single film across the board

The film is compatible with SV480Cv3 for solvent, eco-solvent and UV inkjet printing, and LX480Cv3 for latex and UV inkjet printing.

Envision 480 Print Wrap Film can be used in a wide range of applications such as wrapping vehicles, boats, buses, textured walls, as well as indoor and outdoor signage.

Since its release, LW Graphics has been using 3M Envision 480 Print Wrap Film for the majority of its printed graphics on commercial work.

Aidan Hancock of LW Graphics says: “We prefer Envision 480 as our fitters find that it has benefits that other materials don’t offer; for example, it’s easier to fit and is pliable in a wider range of temperatures.

“Other benefits are a higher quality and smoother finish, and good adhesive air release. We find it negates the need for other materials, enabling us to use a single film across the board.”
