Clear Channel UK used the ECOLUX SOLAR for a roadside billboard installation

“With the ECOLUX SOLAR, we’re bringing the cost of installing trough lighting right down, as well as opening up the opportunity to illuminate outdoor signage in settings where there is no on-grid connection or where the cost of laying cabling would be prohibitive,” says Zeta Specialist Lighting’s managing director, Adrian Dennis.

Clear Channel used the ECOLUX SOLAR to power two advertising billboards in Birmingham. The solar powered LED lighting solution is for use in outdoor signage where mains-fed power is unavailable.

With discreet and flexible PV solar panels that use the sun’s energy to power the maintenance-free batteries. Zeta’s energy management system (EMS) releases the energy stored to power the LED trough light, and evenly illuminate the billboards.

A spokesperson for Clear Channel UK adds: “We are extremely proud of the introduction of our first solar-powered billboard in Birmingham, which represents the latest in our commitment to combining the latest Out of Home technologies with our responsibility to the environment, allowing us to create innovative products that promote sustainable development and offer dynamic advertising opportunities.”

From one solar powered solution to another, Zeta’s Solar Signage Kit has helped Tara Signs to illuminate two commercial property developments from The Hargreaves Group.

“The existing V sign at Hamilton Business Park had two elevations, was outdated and unlit,” says Dave Rossetter, sales support manager of Tara Signs.

“We were keen to explore options to illuminate a new monolith as this would significantly improve the kerb appeal as visitors entered the site; however there was no mains-fed power supply.

He adds: “The decision to include signage at the front of the Solent Trade Park was made after construction of the new car park had been completed.

“Hargreaves had a preference for the sign to be lit, but channelling into the freshly-laid tarmac to install cabling to power the sign was not an option.”

The Solar Signage Kit is ideal in situations where cost and speed of installation are key factors; this bespoke solution perfectly optimises the illumination of the signage and showcases the branding

The Solar Signage Kit is a bespoke solution for lighting outdoor totems and monoliths, which was voted Sign Product of the Year at the 2014 British Sign Awards.

Dennis says: “The Solar Signage Kit is ideal in situations where cost and speed of installation are key factors; this bespoke solution perfectly optimises the illumination of the signage and showcases the branding.”
