Kodak targets wide-format with green media

Distributed in the UK through Colourgen, Kodak has re-emerged from the ashes of Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a new range of specialised inkjet media. It has been developed with Brand Management Group (BMG) and is compatible with environmentally-friendly latex and UV-curable printers.

The new range of wide-format media from Kodak and BMG has been launched in the UK through Colourgen

The new range, which includes options for solvent systems, covers photo papers, canvases, and backlit media. It has been designed to target the growing demand for media that is designed specifically for use with latex and UV print technology.

“Our goal was to give those who use solvent, latex or UV-curable printers the ability to better compete. The new products maximise those inksets to ensure high-quality yet economical printing every time,” says CG Forker of BMG.

Kodak wide-format inkjet media are designed, qualified and manufactured to stringent performance and quality standards

Kodak Canvas Satin and Matte in 30 to 64” widths are available immediately, along with Kodak Backlit Film Glossy (8mil) which comes in 36, 50 and 60” widths. Kodak Premium Photo Paper Satin and Glossy, available in 36”, 54” and 61”, widths is available from August.

“Kodak wide-format inkjet media are designed, qualified and manufactured to stringent performance and quality standards,” says Melanie Enser, product marketing manager at Colourgen.

She adds: “Each product must successfully complete a battery of more than 50 demanding tests to bear the Kodak name. The introduction of this portfolio takes the Kodak brand to a wider audience and addresses the need of the sign-making industry specifically while still providing quality and economy.”
