Fuji to flex its muscles at key shows

Well known for its commitment to developing print and ink technology that embraces the move towards environmentally-responsible graphics production systems, Fujifilm has revealed it will showcase its wide-format solutions and UV inkjet inks at FESPA Digital (May 20th to 23rd) and Sign and Digital UK (April 29th to May 1st).

Feel the flex: The sharp growth in demand for products such as digitally printed vehicle wraps are helping to stimulate sales of flexible production systems such as the Fujifilm Acuity LED 1600 hybrid printer

“With the variety of options we are now able to supply, we are confident that we can demonstrate to visitors the versatility and power of UV inkjet systems that take advantage of our world-leading Uvijet ink chemistry,” says Tudor Morgan, systems marketing manager, high end at Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems.  He adds: “With groundbreaking speed, quality and performance, this combination, together with our leading workflow solutions, can produce exceptional quality print for an endless array of end applications.”

FESPA will see Fujifilm showcase its new highly-automated Inca Onset flatbed printer from the Q family, launch two brand new inks: Uvijet OH, which offers greater; and Uvijet OL, a low odour corrugated ink, as well as its super-wide format printer the Uvistar Pro8.

Both FESPA and Sign and Digital UK will also see Fujifilm bring to bear its Acuity Advance Select HS, reportedly ideal for signage on rigid and roll materials at up to 64sq m/h, and the Acuity LED 1600 hybrid printer (20sq m/h). The LED 1600 features a green low-energy LED curing system, and is suitable for rigid and very thin flexible materials.

Applications in key growth markets that are seeing the demand for high-resolution systems such as the LED 1600 increase include full vehicle wraps and branding, in addition to floor and wall graphics.

Both shows will also be used as a platform to demonstrate the wide application scope of Fujfilm’s Euromedia range of signage and graphics materials.

Another flagship launch from Fujfilm in the run up to the two shows has been its new ‘thermo forming’ UV-cured inket ink, Uvijet KV. Designed for the Acuity Advance Select and Acuity Advance Select HS, the formulation can stretch up to 400 percent under heating and is billed as having ‘no compromises’.

For use on applications that see the heat moulding of plastics post-printing, Mike Battersby of Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems explains its relevance:  “Large-format printing has for some time been expanding away from the ‘traditional’ graphics markets, so we’ve been using our extensive ink and application knowledge to develop solutions which allow these systems to be used for different light industrial applications.”
