Ultraleap eyes touchless future
Digital technologies provider Ultraleap has rolled out a new application that will enable companies to transform existing kiosks and touchscreens into touchless devices.

Ultraleap says that around 80% of consumers see touchscreen technologies as unhygienic
TouchFree provides touchscreen emulation by detecting a user’s hand in mid-air, converting it to an on-screen cursor and supporting interaction methods users are familiar with.
Designed to run invisibly on top of existing user interfaces without the need for modifications to existing interfaces and design, TouchFree can be used alongside Ultraleap’s camera module and hand tracking software to enable touchless gesture control on any screen.
According to Ultraleap, this will create a hygienic alternative to touchscreens, with this factor becoming increasingly important amid the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Recent research from Ultraleap shows that as the pandemic continues, 80% of people now think public touchscreens are unhygienic, with locations having to adapt in response.
