More than 350 companies applied to the Ocean Outdoor scheme

The fund was established one month ago to boost businesses and stimulate jobs and local economies during the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Ocean Outdoor had hoped to give away £10m worth of free out-of-home advert space, but was able to go beyond this initial target.

During the process of the fund, which is now closed, more than 350 companies applied, including businesses working in food and beverage, direct to consumer, health and wellness, leisure, tech and B2B.

Ocean’s sales team has been working at pace with all the business who applied, many of whom are new to out of home, to get their campaigns live

The digital campaigns will be posted across 12 cities throughout June.

Phil Hall and Steve George, joint managing directors of Ocean Outdoor UK, say: “This has been an exceptional project which has without doubt helped some businesses keep their heads above the water, build brand equity, connect with new audiences and generate sales during a difficult period.

“Ocean’s sales team has been working at pace with all the business who applied, many of whom are new to out of home, to get their campaigns live. To meet demand we have also injected a further £4m into the fund.”
