3D digital signage hits the market

A new ‘glasses-free’ 3D signage solution was recently launched, offering potential for retail, hospitality and other industries to grab the attention of consumers.

The new solution offers a 3D display without the need for 3D glasses

Created by 3D technology firm, MOPIC, the Digital 3D Signage solution can be viewed under different angles and transforms a 4K monitor into a 3D device.

According to the firm, the viewing time of 3D advertisements are said to have the same length of viewing as two TV commercials.

This means if used in retail or hospitality environments, the 3D signage solution has the potential to draw in more customers through vibrant and eye-catching displays, as well as promoting sales more clearly.

The thin and transparent 3D lens works by providing viewers a 130-degree view range without blind spots from a minimum viewing distance of one metre.

In addition to the lens itself, MOPIC offers an advertisement template service in which users can select a template, add images and text, and finally, plug in the completed advertisement USB into the set-top box and play.

MOPIC also provides a Personal 3D Monitor which uses eye-tracking technology to create a 3D experience for a personal display.

The monitor can convert side-by-side images into real-time 3D images without the need for 3D glasses and is recommended in applications such as real estate, medical, and education industries.

The final product to have been launched is a 3D film that converts a tablet into a 3D device. The HoloGlass offers potential for brands to virtually create 3D prototypes such as car parts, using only a screen.
