Global has expanded its Dutch presence with the acquisition of MMD Media’s petrol station network

With immediate effect, Global has taken on MMD Media’s Dutch ‘forecourt’ petrol station network which consists of 1378 digital screens located across 607 petrol stations in the Netherlands.

Leon Taviansky, chief executive officer of Global comments: “We saw this investment as the perfect opportunity to grow our current digital out-of-home (DOOH) portfolio in the Netherlands.

“The deal compliments our current Dutch portfolio, adding 1378 digital screens in petrol stations to our assets on the National Railway and in shopping malls. MMD has built an impressive business which we are excited to develop even further.”

This acquisition is the second move made by Global into the Dutch market, after it acquired Exterion Media in October last year.

Global now operates over 2600 digital screens within its DOOH network in the European country and is believed to reach 40% of the population with its signage.

The company says that the addition of MMD Media’s network will allow it to deliver 67 million impacts each week.
Global also describes itself as “the leading outdoor company in the UK”, and one of the largest in Europe with over 235,000 sites reaching 95% of the population.
