Philips’ latest digital signage technology was unveiled at IFA Berlin 2019

Philips Professional Display Solutions showcased its latest digital signage products for a range of sectors. This included exhibits of their interactive Healthcare screens such as touch screen information points for hospitals and check-in screens for patients.

The company also drew onlookers’ attention to its new hospital bedside LED screens which allow patients to easily access vital healthcare information during their recovery.

The hospitality industry was also catered for, with check-in screens for hotels attracting onlookers with Ambilight technology – a system that responds by altering brightness, colour or contrast depending on picture content. This allows the viewer to see much more detail in the image, providing an immersive feel.

Users of Philips’ interactive digital screens are able to take control with a drag and drop system called CMND.

The number of attendees at the 2019 show totalled more than 245,000 from over 100 different countries. According to IFA Berlin, the event hosted more innovation and product launches than any other previous event.

The chief executive officer of Messe Berlin, Dr. Christian Göke says that IFA shows "power of co-innovation, where inventors in different sectors and industries inspire each other".

call on the best and the brightest minds in the world, whoever they are, and wherever they live, whichever country they call their home, to pool their knowledge and co-innovate to create a better world

Drawing attention to a theme developed in one of IFA’s keynotes, Dr. Göke says that if world famous scientist Albert Einstein were alive today he would probably "call on the best and the brightest minds in the world, whoever they are, and wherever they live, whichever country they call their home, to pool their knowledge and co-innovate to create a better world”.

Business and technology journalists attended from a range of broadcasters including BBC, Al Jazeera and Reuters.

With the UK recently being referred to as a global leader in ‘tech-for-good’ by Tech Nation, event attendees may see exciting product developments at next year’s IFA Berlin event.
