The DOOH network is being rolled out at 120 hand-picked locations across Birmingham

Birmingham City Council has partnered with Ocean Outdoor to install 130 digital six-sheet screens to replace existing roadside locations across Birmingham.

The DOOH signage includes both single and double sided 75” screens within full outdoor totems equipped with Esprit Digital cooling technology. Samsung UK is managing the installation of the signage in association with Esprit Digital.

According to Ocean, the new roadside network compliments the firm’s current portfolio of large-format city centre full motion screens as well as its Loop network.

Sustainability has been considered when preparing for this installation with 120 locations for the screens being hand-picked to minimise their environmental impact.

The project is the latest in Ocean’s digital cities for digital citizens proposition which focuses on investing in platforms for advertisers and audiences.

Ocean’s focused approach to digital out-of-home will now be rolled out roadside throughout greater Birmingham, further boosting the economy

Steve George, Ocean’s chief development officer, explains: “Ocean’s focused approach to digital out-of-home will now be rolled out roadside throughout greater Birmingham, further boosting the economy and giving advertisers the chance to reach aspirational, entrepreneurial people in the UK’s second biggest city.”

Commenting on the collaboration between the firms, Damon Crowhurst, head of display at Samsung Electronics UK says: “Samsung is pleased to be Ocean Outdoor’s strategic display partner for this prestigious network.

“As a significant investor in out-of-home display solutions, it is important to have our brand showcased on the most premium display installations.”
