With the series finale of Game of Thrones broadcasted in the UK last night, many viewers will be at a loss, having watched the show since it first aired in 2011.

The campaign is being rolled out across Primesight’s digital network between Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st May

However, Sky has launched a new ‘thank you’ campaign for fans of the eight-season show, which is being rolled out across Primesight’s large-format digital network.

The campaign is being broadcast across the outdoor media owner’s D48 and D96 network and thanks fans for their passion in supporting the show during the eight years it has been on screens.

Playing on puns that include names such as ‘Lannisters,’ ‘Dothraki’ and ‘The Watch,’ Primesight says Sky has chosen large-format digital sites to provide “great coverage” across a two-day period.

The OOH firm explains that Sky has chosen to launch this campaign as a way of giving back to fans of the show and to thank them for their loyalty in an era of endless choice in online and TV programming.

Our aim was to reach as many followers as possible, whilst also delivering high impact around the most anticipated TV series ending

Commenting on the thought behind the campaign, Sam Patel, Primesight business director, says: “We worked with Rapport to build a tactical two-day campaign thanking fans on the eve of the final show, and posting a final message the next day.

“Our aim was to reach as many followers as possible, whilst also delivering high impact around the most anticipated TV series ending. By utilising our network, we can achieve great cover and deliver a campaign which fans would be grateful for.”

According to the Independent, a staggering 3.39 million people tuned in to watch the first episode of the final season on Sky Atlantic on Monday, April 15th.

The Independent also reported that an additional 17.4 million people watched the HBO show on TV and via streaming platforms, with the broadcaster describing the event as the “largest night of streaming activity ever.”
