Samsung Display unveils its new video wall displays

Said to be the world’s first video wall segment, the new UHD displays from Samsung Digital are the response to a growing demand for digital signage solutions.

“Although UHD products for digital signage have been introduced in other segments, SDC’s new UHD displays with their 3.7mm, ultra-narrow bezel are the first in the video wall segment and are expected to transform advertising and information messaging in large format signage,” says Yang Oh-seung, head of LCD marketing at Samsung Display. “Four 65-inch electronic display panels, featuring 8.3 million pixels, will comprise the most impressive 2×2 video wall on the market today.”

The 46-inch 3x3 full HD installation has also benefited from advancements from the firm, accounting for the largest number of commercial installations. Samsung Display hopes that the new video wall panels will enhance the value and utility of video walls for signage providers.

It is estimated that the global digital signage market will be worth £25.57bn ($32.84bn) by 2023 which is expected to be driven by LED and LCD display. There has been significant growth in emerging economic countries and therefore a rising demand for digital display. The flexibility that digital signage offers means that campaigns can be altered and changed at short notice.

Samsung was identified as one of the major companies in the global signage market along with LG, NEC Display, Sharp and Planar Systems.
