Signagelive hits digital pay dirt

Engaging with weary travellers in a motorway services environment can be a difficult task for businesses, but a creative new cloud-based digital signage solution from Signagelive and Saville AV looks set to make that connection easier. Motorway service operator Welcome Break has confirmed its involvement in the project, announcing its installation of more than 90 Signagelive-powered LG webOS Smart displays.

Signagelive’s intelligent content management system creates menu boards overlaid onto background video to attract consumer attention

Signagelive, a specialist in cloud-based digital signage technology, has worked with its channel partner Saville Audio Visual to help Welcome Break become among the first companies in the UK to install the innovative signage solution.

The creative application looks set to play a part in streamlining digital signage management in motorway services, and is already providing a return on investment for popular businesses including pizza chain Papa Johns, fish and chips favourite Harry Ramsden, and Tossed salad bars at Welcome Break’s around the UK, with attractive digital menu boards showing special offers and deals.

The images and video content featured on the Smart displays are designed by various media agencies, before being uploaded to the Signagelive cloud platform. This cuts out the typical requirement of storage servers, and the SoC software has the capacity to support a range of formats, such as streaming video, web pages, RSS feeds, IPTV, and also static images.

The technology integrates with QR codes as well as social media widgets in order to boost consumer engagement and gain maximum exposure.

The Signagelive software platform is very simple to use and has great benefits, such as content scheduling, screen monitoring and setting times for the screens to automatically switch on and off

John Andrews, technical manager at Saville Audio Visual, says of the technology: “The Signagelive software platform is very simple to use and has great benefits, such as content scheduling, screen monitoring and setting times for the screens to automatically switch on and off.

“The LG System on Chip screens mean that only power and network are required – gone are the days of bulky signage players sat behind screens.”

Signagelive uses a state of the art content management system to create eye-catching menu boards that are set against a video playing in the background. The smart technology is pre-programmed to automatically update depending on the time and location, specifically formulated to attract the attention of customers in a busy service station.

Jason Crenmins, chief executive of Signagelive, adds: “Securing our first LG webOS order in conjunction with Saville UK for a highly regarded brand strengthens Signagelive’s position as a major player in the digital signage market.

“Our SoC software is fully compatible with all LG webOS displays, giving users more choice and greater flexibility when it comes to implementing a digital signage solution.”

Signagelive has continued to build marketshare due to its application flexibility
