The Latex R Series uses water-based Latex inks to print high-quality images on a range of rigid and flexible markets.

The new entry-level option that has been introduced is the HP Latex R1000 model, available at a competitive price point.

Elsewhere, HP is also introducing improvements across the R series, including software productivity enhancements with expanded queue management capability and automated updates.

Guayente Sanmartin, general manager, HP Large Format Graphics Business, explains: “With the new HP Latex R Printer series 2020 edition, large-format print-service-providers [PSPs] will benefit from new levels of performance.

"They will also be able expand to fast-growing applications, such as short-run special packaging and printed thermoforming for which HP Latex inks technology delivers top quality performance.”

The new R series will allow PSPs to move into, or improve, services such as custom short-run packaging, point-of-purchase corrugated displays and printed thermoforming. This is thanks to the materials the R series can print on, such as paper and plastic foamboard, corrugated board, acrylic among other materials. It can also print on roll-fed media like PVC banner, self-adhesive vinyl and coated papers.

The HP Latex R2000 Plus printer has a roll-fed or sheet-fed configuration up to 2.5m, while the HP Latex R1000 Plus printer can handle media up to 1.64m. The latest entry-level solution – the Latex R1000 printer – can also handle substrates up to 1.6m-wide.
