Giving back to the local community

According to findings from the UN, the number of hungry people in the world is growing with more than 820 million people suffering from hunger globally. This can be made even more difficult to manage in the cold winter months.

The whole company pulled together to collect over 3,000 food items

Having worked closely with local communities for almost 30 years, the firm has recently been working hard to give back to the community by supporting a local charity.

Sign Pro first opened its doors in 1990 as a small sign shop in Connecticut and has since grown to a 40,000sq ft facility and serves local businesses, regional partners and national signage programmes in the US and Canada.

Throughout November, the entire Sign Pro team banded together to collect non-perishable food items for Bread for Life charity in Southington, Connecticut.

Bread for Life is a non-profit organisation which relies on the generosity of the community to provide food to those in need.

During the holiday season all of us are thankful for our successes. The food drive is one example of how a company can make a positive impact in our community”

The organisation creates meals each day in its kitchen which are then delivered to the senior community and home-bound citizens, as well as to children over the summer.

Originally aiming to collect 1,000 food items, the staff actually delivered a total of 3,300 items to Bread for Life after a collection box was left in the company’s lobby.

Commenting on the achievement, Peter Rappoccio, president of Sign Pro says: “Sign Pro and our employees share a goal of supporting our community. During the holiday season all of us are thankful for our successes. The food drive is one example of how a company can make a positive impact in our community.”
