‘Rovers’ escape in a Dubai Hotel

H2R Design has transformed the interior for the three-star Rove Hotel at Dubai Parks and Resorts.

Rove Hotel in Dubai has a new lick of paint

Colourful artwork has been exhibited throughout, including in the 579 rooms and public spaces. This includes a pink flamingo in the bathroom, inspired by the local water park.

The design also reflects both the middle eastern location and celebrates the hotel’s character, which H2R say is “artsy, cool and fun”.

When visitors arrive at the hotel they will be met with a “Marhaba” sign, a traditional Arabic greeting. This was commissioned by Tarsila Schubert, a local artist who started her career as a street artist 9 years ago and has created designs for the likes of Pepsi and Sephora.

The entrance’s artwork is lenticular shaped and tilted which H2R Design say showcases the “playfulness of the context the hotel is in”.

The idea behind the project was to provide travellers with an interactive haven amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

We designed this space with the contemporary generation of travellers in mind and developed ways to keep them connected and engaged

The hotel’s ethos is to ‘explore without borders’ so with this in mind, H2R Design set out to create an open, experimental design which would re-define the Rove experience.

H2R Design was also inspired by the proximity of the three local theme parks and aimed to immerse tourists in a similarly exhilarating environment.

Co-founder of H2R Design, Husain Room, says: “We designed this space with the contemporary generation of travelers in mind and developed ways to keep them connected and engaged.

“Our aim was to harmoniously bring together four contrasting elements including the bold amusement park themes, UAE’s culturally inspired surroundings, the need for connectivity and the essentials of hotel stay tranquility.

“We achieved that by creating a natural flow from room to room and throughout the public spaces of the property.”
