The Ice Guardian’s LED lights flash continually once temperature drops to 3°C

TRAFFEX is the UK’s largest event for all those involved in the highways sector. The event will see thousands of traffic engineers, safety professionals and infrastructure planners head to Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre to experience the latest products, tech advances and services from over 350 leading exhibitors.

The Ice Guardian is a battery-operated sign that uses bright LED lights which continually flash once the temperature drops to 3°C to warn people of the risk of ice. The product also features a battery life of approximately 5-7 years. The battery-operated design means that users have the benefit of placing the sign wherever they like, including mounting to walls.

Following the launch of a dedicated Ice Guardian website, the firm has experienced a further increase in sales, and is now shifting approximately 2000-3000 units per year

Launched in 2012, Limelight Signs has experienced an increase in sales year on year of the Ice Guardian. The product has gained particular popularity in the USA, which has experienced extreme winter conditions this year.

Following the launch of a dedicated Ice Guardian website, the firm has experienced a further increase in sales, and is now shifting approximately 2000-3000 units per year. Limelight Signs has also recently trademarked the product to avoid other companies selling the product as their own.

The Ice Guard BB1, manufactured as a yellow backing board, for use in car parks and high-density walkway areas

As a result of the increased growth in sales, Limelight Signs has added a number of new products to its Ice Guardian range such as the Ice School 1 which has been designed to offer high visibility effective warning to children, parents and teachers at schools.

Also new to its range is the HS1, a first line site entrance safety board which as well as incorporating a company’s health and safety regulations, includes an ice warning sign providing a warning to both the public and contractors of unsafe conditions.

Other applications include a dual-purpose warning which incorporates on-site speed limit warning with risk of ice warning, a yellow backing board designed for use in car parks and high-density walkway areas, and a smaller Ice Guardian unit designed for bollard mounting.

Visitors can find Limelight Signs at stand E070, between April 2nd- 4th 2019.
