GDS celebrate 20 years in the industry

Graphic Design Supplies is celebrating has celebrated 20 years in the industry and has reflected on the changes that have happened over the last two decades.

The business was founded in 1998 and was focused on sales face to face, but GDS has now said that the majority of sales are conducted online, something that is widely reflected most industries.

GDS has also reflected on the evolution of technology, with sales focused on the Océ range of analogue printers and other plotter models, such as the HP 500. GDS says that things are different now with the Canon Image Pro Graf range of printers, the Pro Series, the HP T Series and the HP Latex printers, which make up the bulk of the core business of Graphic Design Supplies.

The ever-changing market has made for a fascinating journey for GDS

Based in Macclesfield, the company originally began in Warrington and was founded by managing director Mark Walker. The firm moved to Macclesfield in 2011 after expanding and outgrowing its previous base. GDS is also one the highest performing partners of Canon and sits in the manufacturer’s top three UK wide-format partners. It is also a top 20 Canon European Premier Partner.

Not only has GDS enjoyed a successful relationship with Canon but has also achieved Canon Accredited Select Partner Status in all three channels of CAD, graphics and photo select. The firm can also boast its status as an HP Gold Design Jet specialist.
