Signs Express Liverpool North and Wirral has declared its backing for a start-up social enterprise established to support an area severely affected by a huge gas explosion in New Ferry last year.

The New Beginnings New Ferry CIC site will offer a host of amenities to people in the community

'New Beginnings New Ferry CIC’ will help businesses and residents impacted by the incident, offering services such as a social supermarket, counselling, retailing recycled paint, employability help and financial management courses from its new premises.

Signs Express will support the effort by donating a range of signage to the site that opened in March. This included a new fascia sign, window graphics and plaques to help advertise the location and supporters of the enterprise.

John McEntee, director of Signs Express Liverpool North and Wirral, comments: “We have been extremely proud to be involved by donating signage and supporting New Ferry New Beginnings along their journey since the gas explosion that devastated the New Ferry community.

“They have been a pleasure to work with and we wish them every success with the launch. It’s an invaluable resource for the community.”

Based at the old Lloyds Bank on Bebington Road, Wirral, the new site includes a training and meeting rooms, as well as communal areas and display areas that can be used to showcase various local arts and crafts.

Alison McGovern MP and Steve Rotherham, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City region, were on hand to open the facility earlier this year. Signs Express was able to install all donated signage prior to the opening ceremony.
