Kongsberg investment brings new projects

A Kongsberg X44 digital cutter has allowed one sign company the ability to move into other markets, and complete jobs that would not have been possible previously. Investing in new technology is a great path for companies to get involved with different projects.

RHM created a sign for the Building Awards, which was made from foam PVC and cut using the Kongsberg

London-based RHM turned to CMYUK to invest in the new digital cutting machine, after a demonstration at the company’s showroom in Shrewsbury.

Stuart Boyce from RHM comments: “Seeing the machine first hand was great, we were able to really understand the potential the machine would give us—both the roll-fed conveyor system for our flexible media and the powerful 3KW router for all our rigid work.

“The ease of use with respect to changing tools, media types, and user interface when setting up new files was much easier than we anticipated. On delivery, the engineer profiled all our material types, all we have to do now is choose the material from a drop-down list, meaning anyone can operate it.”

We’re doing jobs now that would not have been possible without the Kongsberg. The machine is great and we are learning new things all the time

RHM has worked with clients such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Pink Buddha, and Imagination. Boyce continues: “We’re doing jobs now that would not have been possible without the Kongsberg. The machine is great and we are learning new things all the time.”

Nick Reed from CMYUK adds: “Working with RHM has been fantastic. They already had an older-style router and lots of experience on this kind of equipment, so they knew exactly what they needed. After the demonstration it was clear that the Kongsberg had surpassed their expectations, a great feeling for us and reinforcing the quality and versatility that is synonymous with the Kongsberg brand.”
