Granthams stands tall at 126

Citing an ongoing increase in demand for large-format hardware and consumables, Granthams has revealed the appointment of three new full-time members of staff and a strategic plan that will see it relocate to larger premises after a strong first quarter of trading in 2017.

The adage that ‘people buy from people’ has never been truer than in the case of Granthams, which for 126 years has built itself a reputation based on honesty, personal service, and a total commitment to the well-being of its customers.

“Although it’s often considered a clichéd statement, customer service has always remained at the forefront of what Granthams stand for. With over 126 years of business under our belt, we've built strong and affable working relationships with distributors, longstanding customers, and even other resellers within the industry,” explains Jamie Reader, systems consultant and senior team member at Granthams.

He continues: “These strong connections lead to Granthams becoming members of one of the most experienced UK buying groups in the sign and print industry, Graphic Dealers Ltd. And more recently, developing a link as hardware specialists for a leading European distributor of paper and packaging solutions.”

Granthams has spent 30 years supplying leading brands of sign printing and production systems including Mimaki, HP Latex Printers, Graphtec, Summa, and Easymount—whilst also acting as a source for a wide range of software and large-format consumables.

“While this may seem like a lot to take on, we’ve found that the industry has shown demand for a central expert who can point them in the right direction, and advise honestly without the need to convert users from solutions that work best for their workflow and budgets,” says Reader, who adds: “With some customers continuing to use our services for over 25 years, from Formula One teams to National TV Production Companies, it’s easy to see why businesses continue to use Granthams as their trusted supplier.”

Continued support at the firm also comes from users of their own brand Eco-Pro inks, suitable for Epson, Mutoh, Roland, Xerox, and Océ printers.

“With the announcement of our 1,000th user fast approaching, the brand confidence and awareness is as strong as ever for Eco-Pro, with many conversions being generated through referrals,” concludes Reader.

In such a competitive sector of the market it often takes either a unique product or regional monopoly to succeed, in Granthams case it seems the company will continue to flourish as it remains steadfast to the value that have seen it right for 126 years.
