MTEX reassures customers over Brexit concerns

A month on from Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, a very hazy picture is slowly starting to become clear, and digital textile print provider MTEX has reached out to its global customer base to provide reassurance.

MTEX has reassured customers that ‘the market has never been stronger’

MTEX, whose manufacturing facility is based near Porto, Portugal, states in its email that ‘the market has never been stronger, nor demand greater for high quality digital textile print solutions’. The firm highlights its international presence, with 650 researchers from around the world forming a respected R&D laboratory that assists MTEX with advanced consulting and technology transfer skills.

Chief executive Eloi Ferriera comments: “The UK market is important for MTEX and what we expect to see is continued growth as demand for digital textile printers grow, the technology becomes more accessible and knowledge and skills start to transfer. We don’t expect any of this to change post Brexit, in fact, early indicators are showing that there will be more demand for on-demand digital textile print services in a home-grown market.”

Managing director of MTEX Technologies UK adds: “The markets have already started to stabilise, as the spin and rhetoric dies down. We can assure MTEX customers that we are here to support them through this transitional period.

MTEX from the beginning invested in UK facilities, staff and engineers so it’s business as usual from where we stand

“MTEX from the beginning invested in UK facilities, staff and engineers so it’s business as usual from where we stand. The MTEX 5032HS high speed direct to textile printer is proven technology and digital textile printer of choice for the flag/ display graphics print professional - this has now become the flagship model and we have orders being fulfilled throughout the summer. It’s a great investment for profitability now and in the future.”

One business that shares Bell’s opinions on the MTEX 5032Pro is signage and wide-format print firm Group 101, which has grown its offering thanks to a recent investment in the textile printer. Beginning life as a canvas printer before moving into large-scale signage, the purchase is the firm’s first foray into direct-to-textile print.
Chief executive and founder James Sahota comments: “The MTEX 5032Pro is a totally different beast from your standard wide format printer.

“It’s a bit like the difference between driving a car and flying a plane - there are more factors to consider than when you’re just loading a roll of vinyl or a board, such as how the material behaves, and the effects of heat, tension and torque.

“It was a massive learning curve, but when the penny finally dropped I just had a big grin on my face. Thanks to our new soft signage solutions the MTEX is becoming a firm favourite with our network of trade clients.

"With our exceptional prices, a comprehensive knowledge of all things print and state of the art finishing department, it’s no wonder our trade fabric printing department is growing month on month.”
