Has AST designed a winner?

AST Transport Branding’s livery design has been shortlisted for a national award

BOC is well-known for having launched a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) business in 2012, supplying the environmentally friendlier LNG to national fleet operators, as a replacement for diesel. In the last three years, the company has expanded exponentially, and now runs its own LNG fleet to supply some of the UK’s biggest distribution companies.

Due to this growth, BOC decided a rebrand was in order, and commissioned a design overhaul to help the vehicles stand out against competition.

Dubbed ‘the Oscars of the transport industry’, 1500 guests will attend, giving both AST and BOC plenty of exposure for the design work

The livery, which was designed and produced by Cumbrian fleet wrapping specialist AST Transport Branding, a sub-company of AST Signs, uses a mix of BOC branding and signal colours of The Linde Group (of which BOC is a member) to show the companies’ partnership.

The colour palette, says AST, is also meant to reflect BOC’s environmental messages, and the UK’s drive towards clean tail pipe emissions. The nature of LNG is also reflected in the design’s fluid lines

The winner of the award will be announced at the 30th Motor Transport Awards on July 1st in London’s Grosvenor House. Dubbed ‘the Oscars of the transport industry’, 1500 guests will attend, giving both AST and BOC plenty of exposure for the design work.
