The exhibition opened in the summer and will run through to spring 2019

The ‘Comeback Season: Sports After 9/11’ exhibition is being held at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York, US, showcasing the role sports had to play in the wake of the attacks.

Digital media is a central element of the project and BrightSign’s XT1143 players are being used to power video and audio distribution throughout the exhibition. The media players distribute nine custom-made, short documentaries to large monitors located in various stations.

BrightSign-enabled projection also features in the Halftime digital installation, a large-scale projection map of fan-made ephemera showing the evolution of fan sentiment following 9/11.

The company has been working with the National September 11 Memorial & Museum for a number of years, providing its media players for permanent exhibitions at the facility.

Jeff Hastings, chief executive of BrightSign comments “The Comeback Season exhibition utilises AV to full effect to show the positive impact sport played following 9/11. The custom documentaries and the projection mapped halftime digital installation really bring home the emotion of the time and the healing properties of sport.”

Jonathan Alger, managing partner who oversaw the project for C&G Partners, adds: “BrightSign’s players allow for a flawlessly smooth and crisp viewing experience, enabling exhibition visitors to relive and experience the return of games that helped heal the country.”
