This year’s annual Ski Deal Week festival attracted thousands of enthusiasts to Sella Ronda in Italy, but it was funky models created using a Massivit 1800 that stole the lime-light.

Sisma Italia, Metropole, and Marie 3D worked together to produce a pair of oversized goggles, a helmet, a full-size snowboard, and the main attraction—a gigantic ski boot—which went viral on social media after hundreds of visitors chose to climb inside for a selfie or two.

Massivit is making something of a name for itself as it creates these publicity stunts around the world, and along with players such as Stratasys is a leading light in the sector.

We are a young company building on a rich legacy of industry innovation. Founded by Gershon Miller, a pioneer of wide format printing and 3D printing, Massivit is rapidly expanding the possibilities of large-format 3D printing.

Indeed, its mission statement provides something of an insight into its strategy: "We are a young company building on a rich legacy of industry innovation. Founded by Gershon Miller, a pioneer of wide format printing and 3D printing, Massivit is rapidly expanding the possibilities of large-format 3D printing.

"Our team of visionary co-founders and printing innovators is breaking new ground with revolutionary products that bring eye-catching, super-size 3D displays into the world of advertising, retail and entertainment. As our customers make the exciting leap to giant digital 3D printing, we’re supporting them every step of the way."

Igor Yakubov,co-founder of Massivit, began his career as a programmer at Idanit before it was sold to Scitex. In 2011 he moved to Adom, where he headed up software and algorithm development for analyzing 3D imaging files in a company offering advanced treatments for the retina before helping Miller to co-found Massivit.
