The surprise performance by Bill Bailey attracted plenty of interest from the public

Bailey entertained passengers on a Roland LX-7 digital piano, which had been wrapped by Tony Lane of Bristol-based wrap specialists Think Image using a Roland DG SOLJET PRO 4 XR-640 print and cut machine.

The marketing stunt, which was staged to help promote the launch of the new  Roland LX-7, proved a huge hit, with hundreds of passers-by stopping for a look, while Roland recorded more than two million views on its official Facebook page.

“As a branding and graphics company we know accuracy is essential for global brands such as Roland UK. Colour matching and print-and-cut on our Roland kit is not only accurate every time but very simple to use,” Lane says, adding: “That's why we love and buy Roland DG printers.”

Members of the public at the station could also record themselves playing the piano and post the video to Roland to be in with a chance of winning a new LX-7.

Natalie Lewis, marketing manager at Roland UK, adds: “This promotion was a fantastic opportunity to work with Roland DG technology; in such a public environment we knew we wanted messaging that would accurately reflect our brand colours, and most importantly stay pristine and vibrant for the duration of our LX-7 piano’s stay at St Pancras. The wrap by Think Image provided both of these things and more.”
