Put a forest in your shed
In a quirky commission that has drawn a lot of interest on social media, 20-year-old firm Signs and Displays has breathed new life into an old garden shed for a customer by creating a trompe l'oeil effect for its sides.

The trompe o’leil effect on the shed was created by vectorising and warping an stock photo of a forest
“We get a lot of interesting work, and although fairly straightforward to produce and fit, this is one of the few garden sheds we have had to decorate,” says Shaun Hitchman, operations manager at Signs Display.
We used aluminium composite for the hoarding, and the art-work was
produced in our design studio by vectorising and warping a forest scene
to make it appear as if you are looking directly into a forest through
the side of the shed”
He continues: “We used aluminium composite for the hoarding, and the art-work was produced in our design studio by vectorising and warping a forest scene to make it appear as if you are looking directly into a forest through the side of the shed. In fact, the biggest challenge was the shed wasn’t straight at all, so it took a good bit of fettling on sight to make it fit.”
