Traffex 2013 will see a large number of those servicing the road and highways signage sector exhibit
Taking place from April 13th to 16th at Birmingham’s NEC, the exhibition will see an enlarged focus on signage products, solutions and services for those companies servicing road, vehicle and highways signage contracts.
New to the 2013 installation of the show will be a feature dubbed, ‘Lighting the Way’. With central and local government facing budget cuts and the consequences of the Department for Transport’s paper ‘Signing the Way’, the new area is set to help the industry prepare for the impending changes.
Within this framework the issue of how traffic signs will be illuminated in the future is considered”
In a document released to the press, Traffex explains the impetus for its development: “The paper sets out the policy framework for ensuring that the traffic signing system in Great Britain meets the future needs of all road users, whilst building upon the existing and established traffic sign system. Within this framework the issue of how traffic signs will be illuminated in the future is considered.
“In response to this, visitors to Traffex 2013 [...] will have the opportunity to see for themselves the difference between previous requirements and the proposed way forward.”
Covering some 25,000sq/m of the NEC’s Hall 5, Traffex exhibition director Bill Butler explained its relevance: “Lighting the Way is a great opportunity to add a new ‘live’ dimension to the event. This space will become a regular feature at Traffex and will have a new theme each time that will keep the exhibition fresh and engaging.”
