Tools of the trade

In this month’s issue of Signlink, I have taken a look at tools of the trade (page 49) and realised that it is often the little gizmos and gadgets that make a huge difference.

Having spoke to a range of experts in this field, director of Sign Making Tools, Julia Hughes, summed up it nicely: “The right tools for the job could save you seconds or minutes and over time that adds up to an extra cup of tea, five more minutes with a loved one, or a kick about with the kids.”

After all, a small squeegee or cutting tool may only save you a few minutes at the time but overall, the cost of making a bigger mistake with the wrong tools would mean a great loss of time.

Our very own exhibition last year, Signlink Live, saw many of these experts exhibit such as Sign Making Tools, Innova Solutions, and Signgeer, and it was interesting to see how many sign-makers, some far away and some local to Telford, were keen to pop in to pick up the latest tool they needed for a project, from vehicle wrapping to traditional sign-making.

Speaking of vehicle wrapping, which is the theme of this wonderful issue, check out our Trade Comment (page 35) to find out how materials and technology experts can help maintain a strong growing market, and what opportunities there are for new entrants, as well as our main vehicle wrapping materials feature on page 45.
