Strictly on time!

The BBC's Strictly Come Dancing is one of Britain's favourite Saturday-night tv shows, and now Mid West Display are a part of the glamour. The firm created a display for Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice's Salsa dance, which was based in an opticians. The stands made by Mid West Display held pairs of glasses, and the company had to make the order in 24 hours to get ready in time for the show. Strictly on time and strictly fabulous!

Viewers are used to seeing the fast-paced dance moves of their favourite celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing, but Mid West Displays also had to put its quick step to the test, by providing the show with a product in 24 hours.

Debbie McGee, magician Paul Daniels’ assistant and wife up until his death in 2016, was performing with partner Giovanni Pernice on an opticians-inspired set. The BBC show required stands for the set, and they turned to Mid West Displays, which received the order on the Tuesday and had to produce and deliver it within a small timeframe, as the show airs on a Saturday night.

To meet their ‘Strict-ly’ deadlines we needed to put the items into production for an immediate turnaround and delivery within just 24 hours

General manager, Clive Towe, comments: “It was Tuesday when we received the call to provide the items for the BBC, who had seen our experience in manufacturing high-quality POS on our website. To meet their ‘Strict-ly’ deadlines we needed to put the items into production for an immediate turnaround and delivery within just 24 hours.”

McGee and Pernice are one of the few pairs still taking part in the show, after a successful Salsa performance, with the glasses stands from Mid West Displays in the background.

Towe concludes: “Fortunately, the team were only too happy to do whatever was required to ensure we made a glittering TV debut. We’re pretty convinced that our displays inspired Debbie and Giovanni to such a brilliant performance.”
