Another year gone and as the wintry chill sets in, our thoughts turn to winding down, the festivities ahead, and even what will be in store for us in the new year. Whilst the end of the year may not be the right time for every business to be thinking about new opportunities, for some, there is no time like the present.

Other than just getting to know each owner better and how they came to purchasing their own branch of a franchise, it was interesting to hear their advice, their warnings, and their general thoughts on what it takes to succeed down this route in the sign industry.

Another interesting feature to take note of in this issue is on augmented reality (page 62), where Mark Godden takes an in-depth look at the sector. It is not just about bringing print to life through a mobile device as technology such as Google Glass, whilst not accepted in everyday life just yet, raises some interesting issues.
