Blog Post By Rob Fletcher

In the beginning, there was January

To kick things off this month, I’d like to wish you a very happy New Year! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and enjoyed the festivities!

Given all the fun and excitement we experience over the Christmas holidays, going back to work in January with the same enthusiasm in which you ended last year is never easy. After all, we don’t have a week of eating, drinking and resting to look forward to now. I checked my new diary that I got for Christmas and our next Bank Holiday isn't until the start of April! Sigh…

However, despite feeling a bit blue this time of the year, I like to use this time as an opportunity to think about all of the things that we have to look forward to during the next twelve months. And what better place to start with some of the fantastic exhibitions and shows that are lined up over the next twelve months!

Industry favourite Sign and Digital UK will once again return to Birmingham’s NEC, with excitement already growing ahead of the event in late March. Earlier this week, registration for the show opened, with organisers revealing an exhibitor roster that boasts some of the biggest names in the industry.

The likes of Roland DG, HP, Agfa and Grafityp will be in attendance, as will SignLink, which will again be dedicated to bringing you the most important coverage from the show. Don't forget to pop along to our stand if you’re attending the event this year.

We’ve also got a brand new event in the form of The Print Show, which is also scheduled to take place at the NEC, but at the later dates of October 13th to 15th. Although targeted at the print industry, the show will offer a plethora of inside knowledge into profitable sectors such as wide-format print and offer visitors plenty of tips on how to get the best out of their business.

If you’ve got a spare five minutes one lunchtime, have a glance at the website and see for yourself just how much is on offer – http://www.theprintshow.com.

So, while the season of turkey and Celebrations may be behind us (although the stack of chocolates in my office begs to differ), I reckon we’ve still got plenty to be excited about. My advice would be to use January as an opportunity to plan out what events you want to attend this year and establish exactly what you want to achieve over the next twelve months.

Happy New Year!
