IIJ hopes to spark revolution

Founder and managing director of Industrial Inkjet, John Corrall, has said that one of the main reasons behind investing in new equipment should revolve around what new opportunities it can offer to its user.

Corrall explains: “When replacing older technology, the performance and cost are always key, but after that what defines how well the new technology is accepted is what you can do with it—what new abilities does it have and what opportunities does this give the user?”

IIJ also hopes to spark a revolution in the décor market, alongside providing a machine that can offer new opportunities to users. The company will be displaying a core section of this developing machine at Pure Digital in Amsterdam, which is being created in partnership with Konica Minolta.

The machine will focus on full-speed industrial wallpaper production, a market that Corrall has identified as being at tipping point, and can print on typical wallpaper media including paper, PVC, and non-woven (coated and uncoated) materials.

We see this market as at tipping point now. With the right solution digital has the potential to dramatically change what wallpaper is

He continues: “We see Pure Digital as a way for us to contact wallpaper designers and other creatives and let them see what this can do for them. We hope to spark a real revolution in the décor market.”

On the exhibition in Amsterdam, Corrall continues: “Pure Digital in Amsterdam will be an important opportunity to show our progress. Our system is not just for low-volume mural applications, but we believe it makes digital print accessible and economic in high-volume mass production wallpaper production.”

Pure Digital will be held at the RAI centre in Amsterdam, and IIJ can be seen on stand 117 in hall twelve.
Corrall adds: “We see this market as at tipping point now. With the right solution digital has the potential to dramatically change what wallpaper is.”
