Exciting exhibition launches

I hope all our readers have settled back into everyday life after the busy period of Sign and Digital UK—although speaking to many of you at the event, it was clear that exhibitions take up a large part of your time, with many companies going on to other events after its close.

It was great to see so many of you in Birmingham for Sign and Digital UK and to see the creative applications possible with technology, materials, and other services. Many companies launched new machinery, which is always an exciting part of an exhibition. For example, Spandex paid tribute to this year’s edition of the event after the solutions provider used it to launch seven new textiles to the market.

Innotech launched a range of roller banners and Grafityp introduced to the market the Grafiwrap AE38C, a 50-micron cast comfort air escape print vinyl. In terms of new machinery, day two saw the worldwide launch of Inktec’s Jetrix LXi8 production printer, which certainly drew in the crowds.

It is always positive to see manufacturers encouraging young people to get inventive, and with Epson’s competition, one student was able to see her designs printed on the flagship SureColor SC-S80600 and then used to wrap a car and produce wallpaper that featured on Epson’s stand at the event (see the full story on page 24).

For an overview of Sign and Digital UK, head to page 34 where I have collated some of SignLink’s reporting from the event.
